A 1959 Austin-Healey ‘Frogeye’ Sprite that has been in the same family’s ownership since 1979 is to be sold without reserve at H&H Classics’ 9 October sale at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford.

Chassis AN5/16380 has been with the same family for the last 45 years but has been off the road since 1987. It is now being offered in true barn find condition and while it appears to be substantially complete it also comes with an extensive cache of additional spare parts, including another A-Series engine and dashboard.

H&H’s Damian Jones said: ‘The car’s distinctive TTH 9 registration number was originally issued in Carmarthenshire and is understood to still be ‘live’. It’s currently painted blue but there are traces of red paint in its engine bay and an intriguingly has a ‘Peking to Paris’ decal on the passenger’s door.

‘It’s a potentially rewarding and hopefully straightforward project.’ Chris Frear
