Iconic Auctioneers has consigned a 1993 Morgan Plus 8 with just 52 miles on the clock to its Collectors Car Sale at Silverstone on 24 August; the guide price is £50-60k.
The vendor bought the car new in late 1993 but asked for it to remain with the dealership, unregistered, until 1 January 1998, when the decision to register it was taken. However, it has continued to be pampered in professional storage ever since and was returned to the Morgan factory for a full recommissioning at a cost of more than £5000.
'It had been his intended retirement present'
Iconic Auctioneers’ sales manager, Garry Dunne, told CCW: ‘We are delighted to be offering this exceptional, one owner Morgan, direct from its first keeper. Originally ordered in June 1990, it was supplied in 1993, unused and only registered for the first time in 1998. It had been his intended retirement present but as he hadn’t retired yet, he simply hasn’t used it.
